RIG 'DZIN TSANG DBYANGS RGYA MTSHO'I GSUNG MGUR This collection is couched in a highly idiomatic language, far more so than the Tsang-dbyangs rGya-mtsho'i mGu-

. I am indebted to the linguistic detective work of Per K Sørensen, presented in his exhaustive critical edition
of the MS (Divinity Secularized: an enquiry into the nature and form of the songs ascribed to the Sixth Dalai Lama
[Wiener Studien zur Tibetologie und Buddhismuskunde, Wien 1990] pp 341-448). It is upon his emendations and
readings of corrupt or uncertain words that the present text is based.
