Home Commercials 1974 - 1984
Right from the word go, the Marina range was designed to be built in many variations and two commercial vehicles came from this set of options. The van and pick-up shared a lot of interchangeable panels with the car range including the complete chassis design from the estate. They were launched in 1974 with either 1275cc or 1098cc engines in 10cwt and 7 cwt capacities. Mechanically the higher capacity vehicles shared components with of all things, the MGB whilst the lighter vans used modified Marina components.
The vans were light years ahead of what they replaced (Minor and A40) and were very successful, apart from the fact the factory was on strike for several months in 1975 which makes 'M' registered vehicles very rare!
