Mah Jongg
The ancient Chinese game of the four winds for EPOC palmtops
This program is an adaptation of the classic Chinese game, Mah Jongg, for EPOC palmtops. For an excellent introduction to the game visit www.mahjongg.com which provides a step-by-step beginner's guide along with a wealth of information on all aspects of the game.
This version uses the 'Classical Chinese' rules and scoring. Features include a tutor mode, which will help new players learn the rules quickly by prompting them whenever a pung, kong, chow or mah jongg can be made, and new in v1.20 is an extended statistics menu with a score card summarising the game history.
Screenshots of Mah Jongg running on a Series 5mx are available here.
Mah Jongg is under continuing (although sporadic) development. If there's something in the game you think could be improved, or a feature you'd like added, please suggest it to me via the email address below and I will add it to my ideas list for possible inclusion in the next update.
Mah Jongg is shareware. The trial version available for free download below is complete except that you are only allowed to play the first hand. Registering removes this restriction and entitles you to free updates by email as and when they are released. Registration costs GB £12 or US $20. If you have a credit card you can register online using Reg.Net and download the unrestricted version immediately (follow the appropriate link below). For alternative registration options see the help file included with the program.
