Inter Chorlton Feathers 4 . The Railway 3..........Inter played there first friendly of the season today, beating Railway 4-3 in a good game to start the season rolling. Inter were the best team throughout the game and were first to score through Akash Rajput (5) after Railways keeper was stranded off his line. Inter then went 2-0 up with a well taken goal from Sean Maye (15). Railway pulled a goal back just before half time, and thats how it stayed until the break. .......Second half saw Railway really come at inter and put the game to them, Inter responded with another goal this time from super sub Michael Gresham (60) who had just came on, what made the goal special is that Michael has been Inter Chorltons Goalkeeper for the last 4 years and this was his first outfield game in that time. Railway quickly responded and added there second...Inter then hit straight back with there 4th and yes Michael Greshams 2nd (65) goal, a brilliant curling shot from just outside the box..Railway got there 3rd goal, but it was too little to late as Inter finished the game strongly with more goalmouth chances and shots coming off the post........M.O.M. Inter Chorlton Feathers 1 . Hillend Royals 4..........Arranging friendlys, who would do it? I new Hillend were going to have a strong team and although it was a friendly they love to beat us, and when our 5 lads turned up at the Feathers, it looked as if they wouldn't have much trouble in doing so. Any road we rustled a couple more players up brothers and drunken friends of our lads and made our way down to Poundswick school playing firelds. Hillend were all there changed stretching and listening to Manager Greggs motivating team talks as we made our way to our pitch side outdoor changing room. A couple of Wythenshawe Pirates players were hanging around and Hillend sent them over, we were now only one man down so Louie from the Pirates joined us, THANKS LOUIE. We proceeded with the game and found our selves 2 nil down after 1/2 an hour it didnt look good, although Captain Devon Caines and eventual MOM was doing is best to rally Inters players and get them going. The first half ended 3-0 to them. Manager Chris Maylett got is lads in and gave them a team talk. "This is Hillends strongest team, this is our weekest team, we are more than likely going to get beat by the end of 90 minutes, but go out for the next 45 minutes and look like you at least want to win, if we do that we can win the second half and do your selfs proud, enjoy the next 45 and put some hard work in and benifit from the fitness it will give you, get on the pitch first go on show them your ready for the second half" The brief talk seemed to work Inter thrown caution to the wind and took the game to Hillend creating chances and putting Hillend on the back foot. The magnifcant Devon Cainnes ran the show and was awarded with a great headed goal on 70 minutes from a long throw in from Rico Ford. Inter centre half Michael Ford and stand in centre half Johnny Cummins kept Hilllends superstar forwards quiet and managed to keep Hillends new striker and well Known prolific scorer Reggi under wraps until the 85 minute when he produced a breathtaking peace of skill to slot home a low curling shot past the finger tips of keeper for the day Michael Gresham. Inter could hold there heads up high as they drew the second half 1-1 and saved the game from turning into a rout for Hillend...........M.O.M. Devon Caines absolutely outstandinding...so much so Hillends manager was offering him a signing on form STAY AWAY GREGGORY
