HELP
Re Downloading - Upon clicking any file that then
asks whether to save it or not, click 'save'. To open or use that file if it has
a 'Zip' filename extension, use an archiver program to extract the file you want
after downloading it. If you don't have one goto winzip.com
an get theirs.
Re 'avatar upload' - place the mouse arrow over the chosen
avatar icon, then right-click the
mouse button, next highlight the 'Save Picture As...' command near the
top of the popped-up
menu, with a mouse move across, an click it. This process will save it on your
computer, for you to later upload that saved file onto the forum you use, where
it gives you this option in your forum user-settings area, known usually as
'Member CP', 'Profile', or 'CP'.
Re Avatar linkup - To use any picture above as yours in a forum
posting, but without having to upload or save-it, place the mouse arrow over the chosen picture, then right-click the
mouse button, next highlight the 'Properties' word at the foot of the popped-up
menu, with a mouse move downwards, then note all the text that lies next to the
words 'Address: (URL)', for they form the web-address for each picture. Thus
typing these words in at your forum member account settings area, will make that
setting show the picture whose address you just typed in, whenever you post in a
forum.
For ease though, you could highlight that (URL)
text by dragging the mouse pointer over it while pressing its left button, then
right-clicking, an selecting 'Copy' from its popup menu. Then when it
comes for you to enter your avatar or signature picture address, you just place
the mouse arrow in that type-in box, right-click the mouse, a select the 'Paste'
option from its popup menu, for then the stuff you copied earlier will be pasted
into where you want it, saving you to type it in manually. Basically, most of each's
WWW address will start off as - http://this_sites_address/avatars/--?--.jpg
['--?--' = actual picture.
