'Brithnoth' is a cyberspatial entity normally found in Xena newsgroups.
Also a historical figure locally, this statue is on the local church
I wonder if my poor reception of Channel 5 is due to this darned Viking axe in my head ??
This site is a listing of the ancilliary programming that has been screened in the UK surrounding the Xena series.
'Xena Warrior Princess' Channel 5
This was a 1 hour (?) 'documentary' of the Xena phenomenon run as a trailer before the start of series 1 on Channel 5. So the UK terrestrial audience knew all about 'subtext' before the show started. Anyone got a copy ?
'It'll be Alright on the Night 11' ITV, most recently 31 July 2004
'Top Ten Sex Bombs', Channel 4, 17 November 2001, 27 November 2003
This was the usual slightly tongue-in-cheek mix of clips and interviews for this type of programme. The winners were supposedly from a popular vote, in which case WTG Xena, Channel 5 didn't manage to make you that unpopular !! More details on this page with video and screen grabs
13 May 2003 Lucy Lawless on 'V Graham Norton' on Channel 4
Review item from UK 'Daily Telegraph' TV listings section
'100 greatest sexy moments', Channel 4, November 29 2003
So Channel 4 doing a Xena season ? Just 2 days after a repeat of TTSB this compendium, mostly of films was shown. the full results are here
X:WP came in a very creditable 22 but only got about a minute of airtime. The usual scenes from ADITL (wet hair & hot tubs) along with
comments from a few of the interviewees used for the whole show. More details on this page with video and screen grabs
Six Feet Under (series 3), Channel 4, 25 April 2004
