A word or two about the band, for those of you unfamiliar with us but wishing to feel closer. You can ask questions later. |

Who? Where? The Regulars are:
Most of the songs are written by Rob and Pete. Pete writes the words, and he and Rob write the music. Paul's contribution in this department should not be overlooked, however. Pete and Chris are brothers. They are from Grimsby, Lincs (see Encyclopaedia Regular). But the band lives in the Greens' adopted home city of Birmingham. . |

What? The band has, at the time of writing, released two singles, both on Bearos Records. These are the only worthwhile thing any of The Regulars have done in their entire stupid lives.
If you want to buy these, you can find mail-order details and stuff on the Bearos website; to purchase online we recommend the excellent Pennyblack. |

Why? Pete is fond of explaining that underlying The Regulars’ songwriting is the idea that, although much of the world has been turned to shit - largely by the work ethic - there is still a great deal which redeems it; that their songs seek out the pure middle ground between cynicism and naivety, reflecting hope and idealism without ignoring the pain and ugliness. If he’s had a few bevvies and starts on about all this stuff, you’ll never get away. As far as sound is concerned, The Regulars like to put dead loud noisy guitar stuff right next to cutie soft girly stuff, and try and write really good tunes that stay in your head - not in an annoying way like when you can't get to sleep because of stupid stuff from work or college or whatever buzzing round your mind at 3am and making you crazy, but in a good way, like someone really cool and sexy who you've just met when someone brought them to your party. Rob always wants to add more notes, and Pete always wants to take notes away. Creative tension, maybe. Except Rob is too much of a teddy bear to argue. |

And? Band history from late 1999 to date can be found in the news archive. Latest gig news - it's crazy, I know - is on the latest gig news page. You can look at pictures of The Regulars on the images page, and listen to mp3s of them on the audio downloads page. Note the sense of priorities here. If you like what you see, and hear, please join the Regulist and receive nice emails from the band; or even mail us and say hello. There's some other stuff on the site as well but I'm knackered now so I'm off for a kip. You can find it from the links on the front page. |
