Unready, steady, go
30 Jul 2001

The sleeve design for the new Regulars single This is the sound has been completed and sent to print - but the bad news is that the record won't be available to buy at this week's gig.

In the race to have the release ready in time for the Friday's appearance at the Jug of Ale, Pete and Chopper worked late into the night with designer Al Stewart - also responsible for the sleeve of last year's debut single Lie down and fight - and mailed designs to the printer last week.

But Bearos Records' Alan Farmer has announced that despite his best efforts, the Czech plant pressing the vinyl is unable to push the job through in time.

Copies of This is the sound are now expected to arrive at Bearos HQ early next week, meaning that the legions of Regs obsessives out there should be able to buy from Birmingham's Tempest record shop shortly afterwards, with national distribution by Cargo following shortly thereafter.

Alternatively, mail order details can be found on the Bearos website.

Friday's gig, needless to say, will go ahead as planned, with The Regulars hoping for a good turnout after nearly four months off the road for a change of bassist.

With Leicester's brilliant M J Hibbett and the Validators the first act on stage, a great night of pop stuff is certain. See the gigs page for more information.
