Blessed release
29 Jun 2000

The official release date for The Regulars' debut single Lie down and fight has been announced as 10 July 2000 - but punters at this weekend's Jug of Ale gig will get a sneaky first crack.

Four hundred copies of the Bearos Records single have this week arrived back from the pressing plant - and with the artwork for the sleeve and the lyric sheet being printed up on Thursday and Friday, the race is on among fans attending Saturday's gig to be the first ever buyer of a Regulars record.

Saturday's gig will also feature the glorious, melodic, enchanting, dreamy pop of Saloon - whose headline slot marks their own Bearos release - and a solo appearance by cult singer-songwriter Mark Hibbett.

The Regulars' set is expected to kick off some time after 9pm. For more details see our gigs section.

Lie down and fight was recorded in early May, and its release will mark the end of almost two ludicrous years of agonising delay. Carrying catalogue number Bearos011, the single will be distributed in the UK by Cargo - meaning popkids across the country will be able to order through local independent record shops.

Alternatively, worldwide mail-order will be available direct from Bearos: or you'll be able to buy online from the Regs' recommended supplier Pennyblackmusic, among others.

In the meantime, The Regulars would like to appeal for as many pop people as possible to come along to the Jug on Saturday and share in this warm, delirious and momentous occasion. In all likelihood, they will be tonkered and wobbly - off stage, at least - and very easy to cadge a pint from, or at the very least a great big hug.
