Praise indeed

As unsold stocks of The Regulars' debut single dwindle into two figures, supplies could be hit further by an outstanding review from a Midlands fanzine.

Lie down and fight has shifted quite admirably since its release in July of this year, and Worcester-based zine Rhythm & Booze has decided that roughly 300 popkids can't be wrong, concurring wholeheartedly with a big thumbs-up.

Issue 15 carries a review of four singles on the Bearos label, including releases by Baxxter, Grover and Jameson. The Regs' offering is deemed 'a wonderful single, it has accessible pop sheen with captivating vocals'.

Chopper fares especially well, with praise for both his 'excellent guitar solo' on Lie down and vocals of 'wondrous beauty' on the b-side North star.

And the band's performance at the recent Bearos birthday bash attracted similarly lavish plaudits, with reference to 'great songs', 'great three-part harmonies' and 'a front man who tends to spend a lot of his time po-going all over the stage'.

The Regulars would like to express their gratitude and pledge their eternal love to both reviewers. Thanks! You're really nice.

Rhythm & Booze can be picked up for free at various record shops - I got mine from Swordfish - or by sending an SAE to Rhythm & Booze, PO Box 271, Worcester WR4 9ZU.
