Three
to get ready Another three days in Smallwood Studios - the Redditch set-up where the current Regulars single This is the sound was recorded back in April - have seen the band emerge with another three tracks done and dusted. In sessions that ran from Saturday 8 to Monday 10 December, the bouncy, Chopper-penned delight of Try was successfully committed to tape, along with pop epic Today at last and the new anti-work, pro-music fuzzfest that is Pop box 9:30. Production and engineering were again undertaken by Mr Mat Webster, with the band dabbling into the use of samples and effects and Today at last receiving cheesy Christmas chime sounds. Despite visibility in the region of 15 metres in the dense fog that accompanied the Regs' journey home on two of the three nights, the brushes with death that normally accompany the band on the nation's highways were not this time in evidence. The band hope these recordings will lead to the release of a third single in 2002. |
