Lie
down and wait As The Regulars continue their ludicrously convoluted search for a producer for their debut single, interest in the release appears to be growing. The exposure gained from September's successful performances at ArtsFest'99, followed by more good shows at the Jug of Ale and the Flapper, seems to have had an effect. The lad downstairs in Tempest reports that enquiries about the record - Lie down and fight b/w North star - have gone into double figures and continue to flow in. Meanwhile, hopes for a release in early February have been dashed by our latest knock-back in the pursuit of a knob-twiddler. Moseley-based producer Jon Cotton - who was behind several hit recordings in the eighties - expressed an initial interest in the work. This professional background, proved to be the stumbling block, however, with his fees considerably beyond The Regulars' slender means. New possibilities have arisen, though, and if we can get into the studio in January then a March release for the single - to be released on Birmingham's Bearos Records - may yet be on the cards. |
